What are the Brand Reputation Compliance Global Standards?
The Brand Reputation Compliance Global Standards Or BRCGS is the go-to trade association for all UK retailers. The BRCGS has a core focus on making a positive impact and difference to the retail industry in the UK. It used to be called the BRC. The British Retail Consortium.
But what are their credentials? Well, the BRC introduced the internationally recognized Global Standard for Storage and Distribution way back in 2006. This covers the production of food, packaging and consumer products. The BRC was rebranded and is now The BRCGS.
They are assisting in a few different ways, not just storage. Some examples include setting high standards for responsible business practices, assisting businesses in adjusting to the UK’s new trading terms and leading on e-commerce issues. Everything as far as Amco is concerned is Retail facing businesses.
BRCGS is now a fundamental requirement for leading retailers, manufacturers and foodservice organisations. It offers assurance for product safety, quality, integrity and legality with clearly defined risk-based requirements. The Standard is for Food Safety (including retailers, manufacturers and foodservice organisations), Packaging Materials, (including manufacturers of primary, secondary and tertiary packaging materials) and Consumer Products (designed for global specifiers, retailers and Manufacturers), for general merchandise, personal care and household goods.
Amco and the BRCGS
Amco’s flagship Distribution Centre, Amco Park (based in Redditch) is a BRCGS certified site. The Amco team is working presently to support those retail businesses who are struggling to secure warehouse space or bonded warehouse space and may require access to specialised storage facilities and transport services.

This version of the membership is available to anyone who is a retailer located in the United Kingdom. This specific membership features components that are suited to retailers, including operational support and offering brand protection.
Associates Membership:
If you are a company that provides its services to retailers, then this is the membership for you. When you join the BRCGS you will be placing your business in front of members representing over 70% of UK sales.
Retail Insight:
This option is available to companies that are interested in receiving rapid and accurate retail intelligence.
